In 2004 I started my Open Water course in Sharm el Sheikh. I always had the idea that I would one day go diving, but that day just never came along. Now my friend asked me to join him on his holiday to Egypt and, oh yes, there is also a diving course included.
I got my Open Water cerificate and made a start to my Advanced Open Water. My first experiences were very mixed and for me that had a lot to do with whom I went under water with.
Here I learned that if you really want to enjoy your dive the teacher or guide must have the essentials of showing trust and be able to make you feel at ease

At first I thought the weightless feeling was really most extraordinary under water. Doing somersaults, hanging upside down, floating, totally cool.
Only in 2005 when I went diving with Nicole in The Netherlands and Malaysia I got to notice the underwater marine life. Fantastic to see what underwater life you have and how that world works. For minutes I can enjoy at this one coral where tiny creatures have their household and the urge to survive.
At the beginning of 2007, during training dives in Curacao, I got interested in teaching and guiding divers. Through my years of experience as a sports physiotherapist it was very tempting to give my input and learning to let divers have more fun with their diving.
This was my sign to start my Divemaster training and who knows, maybe become an Instructor.

I hoop to see you soon during one of our courses or dive trips.

Happy bubbles,
Rob
